Born from the land,
shaped by fire
About Wasyugama
Wasyugama is a pottery studio located in Kurashiki, Okayama Prefecture, Japan.
Surrounded by a quiet forest landscape, we work primarily with Bizen clay
and traditional wood-fired kilns.
Through hands-on experience, we invite visitors not simply to observe,
but to participate in a craft shaped by earth, fire, and time.
Beyond Borders
Even when language and culture differ, the time spent touching clay,
moving one’s hands, and waiting for the fire can be shared beyond borders.
Facing the earth, learning patience, and witnessing transformation—
these moments feel universal and deeply human.
